Registrations

There are levels of registration for a purebred dog.

Limited AKC RegistrationThis type of registration for the AKC is mainly chosen by pet only purchasers that do not wish to breed or show their puppy, but wish to compete in any other type of AKC sponsored competitions such as Agility, Canine Good Citizen, Earth dog and all other events. With this registration, the dog is eligible to compete in all AKC sponsored events except breed competition at an AKC sponsored dog shows. If bred, however, litters produced by the dogs are not eligible for AKC registration. The parents to your chosen puppy must be registered with the AKC to obtain a puppy registration application for the AKC.

Full AKC Registration: This type of registration is chosen by breeders and those interested in beginning or competing in the breed specific shows. The dog can be shown and participate in all AKC competitions, it can be bred and puppies can be registered with the AKC. The parents to your chosen puppy must be registered with the AKC to obtain a puppy registration application for the AKC.

CKC Registration: This type of registration is chosen by the breeder prior to the litter being registered. If the litter is registered with the CKC, then you will be provided with a pre-printed puppy application to register your pup upon purchase. The pup is registered with the Continental Kennel Club, able to be bred and have CKC registerable puppies and compete in any CKC sponsored events. Spay or neuter is required by the kennel for this type of puppy purchase.

API Registration: This type of registration is chosen by the breeder prior to the litter being registered. If the litter is registered with the API, then you will be provided with a on-line puppy application to register your pup upon purchase. The pup is registered with America's Pets Incorporated, able to be bred and have API registerable puppies. Spay or neuter is required by the kennel for this type of puppy purchase.

No Registration: You would be getting a purebred dog, but no paperwork with the puppy.  You may or may not be able to obtain any paperwork at a later date.  The dog will not be able to compete in any AKC or CKC events and will not be able to be bred. Spay or neuter is required with this type of puppy purchase.

At AK Countyline Kennels, we sell our puppies with Limited AKC Registration, CKC registration, API registration or No registration.  We will consider selling them with full AKC registration, however you will need to discuss this with us prior to deciding if we will sell them with the Full Registration or not.

All AK Countyline Kennels Adult dogs and puppies are either AKC or CKC Registered and dual registered with the API.
